This insurance cover provides financial protection and medical assistance for your trips

The levels of cover and excesses which apply to your Policy are set out in the Policy schedule which accompanies your policy document.

Your policy carries an excess of £250 which means that you have to pay the first £250 per incident if you claim.

MEDICAL CONDITIONS EXISTING PRIOR TO PURCHASING OR RENEWING THIS POLICY

There is no cover in force for a claim arising out of any of the pre existing medical conditions detailed in your policy document.

You will not be able to claim if

  1. - If you are travelling against the advice of a medical practitioner
  2. - If you are travelling for the purpose of obtaining medical treatment
  3. - If you are on a hospital waiting list or awaiting the results of medical tests or investigations
  4. - If you have been given a terminal prognosis
  5. - If you are suffering from anxiety, stress, depression or any psychological disorder

MEDICAL EXPENSES £5MILLION PER PERSON

Provides cover for costs arising in the event of illness, injury or death during the trip and where necessary the provision of emergency medical assistance

  1. - To be able to claim, the medical treatment must be required in an emergency and be unable to wait until you have returned to the United Kingdom.
  2. - Medical cover does not apply if the trip is taken within the United Kingdom unless the trip is to the Channel Islands.

CANCELLING AND CUTTING SHORT YOUR TRIP. UP TO £5,000 PER PERSON

Provides cover for travel and accommodation expenses that you have paid or have agreed to pay under a contract and cannot get back if you cancel or cut short your trip

  1. - To be able to claim, the reason why the trip is being cancelled or cut short must be necessary and unavoidable and must fall into one of the reasons listed in the Policy. For example if a person insured becomes ill or is injured or dies.

Period of Insurance

This is an Annual Multi-Trip Policy. This means you are covered to take as many trips as you like for 12 months from the start date of insurance (as shown on your Schedule of Insurance) provided each trip lasts no longer than 90 days and the total number of days you travel does not exceed 120 in the 12 month period. You are also covered for trips within the United Kingdom if you stay for at least two nights in pre-booked paid accommodation away from where you usually live.

Cover for cancelling your trip begins from the date shown on your schedule of Insurance or when you book your trip, whichever is the later. Cancellation cover is valid for trips booked during the period shown on the Schedule of Insurance if they are due to start within 120 days of the end of the period. You must renew your policy when it ends for cover still to be valid.

Cover for all other sections begins from the time you leave your home address or business address (whichever is the later) in the United Kingdom to depart for the trip, or from the start date shown on your Schedule of Insurance, whichever is the later. Cover under your policy ends when you arrive back at your home address or business address (whichever is the earlier) or to the end of the period shown on your Schedule of Insurance, whichever is earlier.

Your Right of Cancellation

Cancellation

You can cancel the Policy or any part of it at any time by notifying us in writing of the future date that the cancellation is to take effect. If you have not made a claim during the Policy period, we will refund the proportion of any premium you have paid for the period of the insurance remaining.

Cooling off period

If this cover does not meet your needs, you may return this policy and schedule to us within 15 days of receipt of the policy or the start date of cover, whichever is later, to AIG Private Client Group, The AIG Building, 58 Fenchurch Street, London EC3M 4AB.

We will give you a full refund of any premiums paid within 30 days from the date we received notice of cancellation from you, except where a claim has been made by you within the 15 days that results in the policy being terminated.

If the premium is paid by direct debit, you must ensure the relevant bank or building society is instructed to stop making payments.

Making a Claim

You may make a claim on this Policy by

Are we covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS)?
